Looking at this C5... it's got a clean carfax, it's an 04 with 48000 miles. It's got pretty much everything I'm looking for in a C5, it's a coupe and it's black. However it's $22k. Am I wrong for thinking it's a bit overpriced? I think at that price point I'd rather go for a higher milage C6.

This time of year, it is easily $2,000 overpriced....
Pricing the C5/C6 Vettes is proving to be quite a complex thing in my experience. Prices in the "for sale" section of this board seem to be well above what I can find on Autotrader, etc. but the cars are also generally better cared for and in better shape. Then, I look at sites like KBB and NADA and everything seems super-high.
OP - that looks to be pretty close to what I've found but is a bit high side. Closer to 20K would be nice. Like everything it comes down to how bad you want it and how bad the seller wants it gone.
I paid 19K in JAN of this year for the same car basically, A4 coupe with 55K miles-offer them 17 and see where it goes! but ~20K is about the average price now for a low mile unmolested car, at least from my following them for the last 12 months. Make sure the underside is not damaged. They can look great and have a clean carfax, but the underside will tell you alot about how it was taken care of.
I agree that This should be around $20K, but they are not hugely off base with this. Make an offer that you're comfortable with. The worst they can say is no. With that said, even at the full asking, this is likely to be a lot better than any C6 you'll get for $22K. Be sure to get a pre-purchase inspection on any C5 or C6 that you buy. Good luck!
However.. *IF* it was maintained and had new / recent parts like tires, shocks, belts, hoses, harmonic balancer, history of ALL fluids flushed... it might be well worth $22k.
If its just a avg and needs those things... $19-20 is what I'd expect.
Below avg maintenance / condition... move on.
Too many factors in play without at least a personal inspection. Low miles are great but that C5 could need thousands of dollars in maintenance and repairs, or it could be perfect and worth every bit of 22K.
