Same old thing. Funny thing is, I could swear this is the same guy and car that was at the Crossroads Corvette show last weekend in Mackinaw City, Michigan. He seemed like a nice guy.....then. But it's hard to not be nice when you're surrounded by over 200 other Corvettes. He was towing his trailer last weekend, which contained his racing tires, and had a big trophy laying across his passenger seat and down to the floor. He'd won it at an autocross the week before that. Guy was in his late 30s. Powder/baby blue C8. Saw who I think was him again yesterday, near an art show in Tawas City, Michigan. Wife and I waved at him as he passed going the opposite direction on U.S. 23. He looked right at us, and still wouldn't wave! What's up with the C8 "Superiority complex!!?" Sheesh.......

If another owner waves, great. If not, could be a good reason. If no reason at all, then I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I do my part and that is all I have control of.
There is always a portion of new Corvette owners who never owned a Corvette before and may not recognize or look out for older model Corvettes while out driving. The C8 probably has a larger percentage of these type of owners since one of GM’s goal was to attract younger buyers and other buyers of more exotic cars.
I still waive regardless if I get a waive back or not.
I have caught myself not paying attention so I am sure I have missed a few waves myself. If I notice, I wave. Sometimes they don't wave back. No skin off my nose.
I have noticed people in C7's / C8's do *seem* to wave less often but who knows. I do think people with older vette's are more about the experience of owning a vette than just having a newer sports car. I could be wrong. Doesn't matter to me why others have their vette or what they wasn't to do with it.
Heck I have had Mustangs and Camaro's wave at me too. I think some people just like waving at other cool cars on the road. I wave back to anyone who wants to wave as if to say 'good day for a ride!'.
I get the snub 2 ways, by newer Vette owners and Jeep owners seeing I don't drive a belly button Wrangler.
I'm not sure what that means exactly but I will say that one thing I don't miss about our Gladiator over the new F150 is freaking constantly waving at other god damn Jeeps.
Jeep Wranglers/Gladiators make up about 1 in every 10 cars on the road here lol.
Couple of things my boy and I made a pact on with the Jeep wave thing is no waving at BONE STOCK Jeeps with literal car tires on them. and FFS no waving at Jeeps with angry face grills on them!
With each new Corvette Gen it has been attracting new buyers from other brands.
I expect many don’t what to do and there are some who don’t care.
I really don’t care about the wave but I do it as a go along to get along. If someone fails to wave that is fine with me.
I bought a Corvette because I like the car not to join a club.
I am just glad we are not passing out Ducks. I would draw the line there.
We had a Hells Angles club house near a gas station I worked at in high school. We got to know most of the guys and they were fine with us. I did note they did not do the biker wave with the pretend Yuppies on their Harley’s or most other bikes.
I did get a wave from them when I was in my car as I was the gas station guy they got gas from so that must have counted for something.
I even got to meet Sonny Barger once. He came to town for a trial of one of the locals.
Yes it was in a rough neighborhood. I would not want to cross them and I never spilled gas.
I always try to wave if I can. Sometimes, I notice too late. I'm sure there's been times I just didn't notice at all. There's lots of money here in Northern Virginia, so most of the Corvettes are newer (lots of C7s and a few C8s). I would say that at least 50% of the time i wave, I get a wave back. I do think a lot of the guys that don't wave really don't understand that it is a Corvette thing. In fact, I suspect a lot of the C8 guys get a ton of waves from all over (not just Corvette guys). With that said, if someone waves at me, and I see them, I wave back (regardless of what car they're in).
It certainly doesn't ruin my day, or hurt my feelings. Just something I've noticed. I do think some of them have a "Hey, look at me" attitude. That's OK too, because plenty of other generations of guys haven't waved either, at times. It's just that I've noticed more C8 guys don't wave than do. I've yet to have one wave first, not one. That's OK, too. Life's too short to worry about arrogant, unfriendly people.
