I had the Discount Car Stereo bluetooth harness that worked pretty well until my CD changer went belly up. Sent it out for repair and it worked for a month and then died. I’m done messing with it but DCS says they’ve discontinued their BLU-C5 module that works without the CD. Besides using an FM transmitter, is there anything out there that’ll allow me to hook up my iphone to my Bose? And can anyone please explain why the CD player has to actually be playing for the bluetooth harness to work?
I used the iSimple BlueConnect Hands-Free Car Kit ISFM2381. It works great. Got mine from Amazon but it is out of stock now. The iSimple web site shows it out of stock.
I currently have one of FM transmitters. It works okay. Most quality double Din head units will have Bluetooth and Android auto/apple car play integrated into them. However, as soon as it comes out, I'll be getting this! http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...ol-screen.html
It's a bit pricey, but you it will allow you to connect to your phone via Bluetooth among MANY other things! The KnightDriveTV unit will become the new gold standard for C5 head units. Nothing else (that's commercially available) will even come close.
If you have a cassette player in your radio you can get a cassette at Walmart for about $5 with a cord that hooks to your iPhone. Simply put the cassette in and set to play and it comes through your Boise speakers. Works great in mine can’t think of the brand but if needed I can take it out and get it.
As an alternative-- there's a write up somewhere on the forum on how to very easily install a 3.5" aux input on your stock radio -- route the cable into the center console, you have a super clean installation. Not blutooth, but just as clean.

I wrote that write up like 10 years ago when I had my first C5….. could easily add a Bluetooth receiver to it. Wasn’t really much Bluetooth around back then.

Just gave up on my CD as well after many tries. I bought a Scoche FM Bluetooth from Target that plays from iPhone really well. Need to set the iPhone volume on high to avoid static and skips.

awesome -- and sadly, I've been around long enough that I remember it being posted originally. I've dug that up a few times for others, can you repost?
Honestly, it's probably the best way imo of getting your phone over the stock system, especially if you run an extension into the center console.
I also know that the make stand alone BT receivers that have 3.5" outputs -- I used something similar to add BT to an old bookcase stereo. If OP is set on BT, that would be the best sounding.

What I did was purchase a bluetooth adapter from Crutchfield that has 2 RCA outputs and connected it to an FM Modulator that plugs inline with the radios antenna. Real easy install and its completely hidden.
