Default Brake Fluid Pressure Sensor alternative?

Hey there,

I recently bought a used Modulator Valve for my C5 and upon arrival the Brake fluid pressure sensor was broken. I almost feel like I now have a useless block of aluminum now since that’s broke. I was able to track down the part number for it which was 10417400. Called a dealership for the part and confirmed it has been discontinued just like a lot parts have been n our C5’s. I did a bit of a deep dive into trying to figure what to do at this point and found this post on here regarding using the C6 sensor and connector. I just wanted to see if anyone has attempted this with success or even know a good alternative to fixing the issue. I’m getting really tired of track down parts that are been discontinued left and right. I have linked the thread to what I’m talking about. Post 9 indicates that it could be the C6 version.
let me know if anyone has had success

Discontinued parts aren't that unsurprising on a 20+ year old car.

That thread seems to mention using the same discontinued part number, not a C6 part. I would, if anything, look up a VIN to a random 2005 C6 and have your local dealer cross-reference that. The '05 is most similar to our C5s before the C6 got a couple of refreshes/updates. Maybe the part is the same, maybe it's different.

If you can’t find a new one that will work, try giving Marc at VetteNuts a call and see what he has in stock.

Hi

Hopefully this info I just posted helps us both:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1607217928

These sensors seem to all basically be the same internally. My bet is GM decided to use the NKS sensor instead of the Bosch to save money. The only difference is probably the connector. This Bosch unit is common across MANY manufacturers and seems to have at some point been the C5 part.

I don't have the pigtail for the NKS sensor and it's going to cost me a bunch to get one.. so I'm going to try swapping for a Bosch from the junkyard.
