I have a 2003 Corvette Anniversary Edition. I would like to replace the stock audio system with a radio that has back up camera, and navigation.
In addition, the A/C control window has no light. I have no idea what I am set for. The A/C seems to function well, I just have no idea what is going on.
the AC display is a common failure and easy to fix, you just need to repair cracked solder joints in it.
for the navi, you'll need a double DIN stereo which requires a bit of hacking and a new console bezel and some harness interfaces, but otherwise not that difficult.
The Joying unit requires some minor alterations but has the feel of a double din, there is a massive thread you can reference and I'm really pleased with mine.
ther's a ton on this in the audio section-- basically you can take two routes -- the joying unit, which fits in the stock opening, or a standard DD unit, but that requires a aftermarket bezel.
I prefer the DD unit, and highly recommend the alpine ilx650 (actually, there's a newer version in that line, but same recomondation.)
The more things change the more they stay the same!! I MUCH prefer ***** to this touchscreen crap, which sometimes doesnt work as it's supposed to. It used to be Blaupunkt and Alpine were two of the highest quality automotive head units made, regardless of price. Dont know about Blaupunkt anymore, but Alpine is still the Rolls Royce of car audio, period. And I wish like Hell I'd listened to JDM and gone with an Alpine. My JVC/Kenwood cost $300 less, because they were being phased out. I found out exactly why they were being phased out, and got exactly what I paid for. Sure, it sounds nice, but all the little things, like ease of operation, and other intangibles.....Lets just say I screwed up, and shoulda gotten an Alpine unit. Dont be like Mike!!!!
