Hi all, Looking for a different style cell phone holder. I had the kind that goes into the cup holder, but it broke. I've gotten used to the holder not being there and would like to try a different style. I DO NOT want anything that is permanently mounted, or suction cups to the dash.
I bought one of these- it does not attach permanently, it just slides into the crevasse either by the passenger side HVAC module or radio. I have mine where the radio is as to not impede the magnificent cupholder if I have a to go mug.
I then bought a sticky magnet from amazon and attached it to the mount. It comes with a magnetic plate that you stick to the back of your phone (assuming you use a case, otherwise it would affix to the phone directly which would impede wireless charging). It works like a charm and the phone isn't going anywhere. ITs much more minimalist that the ones that "hug" your phone like mentioned above.
I also use the Course. ProClips are great and what I've used in other cars, but didn't like it in the C5. Remove console to get access to screw for the Course mount. Plus I like it up by the wheel and line of sight.

Stalk mounts can move to where you want it, put your holder of choice on the end, bolts to seat bolt (use one in my truck too). In my C5 is the Kenwood fast-charger, best I've had:
On my C6 I used a swivel-stalk on a ball-base, many places for the base to be mounted, shown here:
