Has anyone purchased this Vevor car lift? Looks like a QJ clone but at a reasonable price. The company Vevor looks to be legit, but I am always skeptical of these types of companies. It is based in China (duh) and has received the usual complaints listed on the BBB. So I guess it's a toss-up. They have tons of tools, equipment and an assortment of "things". Cheers!!!
At one of the top Corvette shops in Dallas I mentioned QuickJack and they basically said "stay away". "Build or buy some ramps, get a quality floor jack and jack stands, but stay away from QJ and it's imitators."
Again, I'm just conveying the opinion I received from a damned good Corvette mechanic. I don't have a dog in this fight.
I'm sure you mean well but taking the word of a rando on the internet giving second hand information from another unnamed rando doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the information you're presenting.
People misuse tools every day. Some of them die because of it.
Set up any life threatening situation so one failure can't kill you. Stuff inevitably breaks. Make it so when that thing breaks, your next line of defense saves your butt.
Vevor is a Chinese brand that makes almost everything you can think of. Go on Amazon and search them, you'll find everything from Stills to jacks to stands with velvet ropes like at a movie theater! Spot welders, dolly's, diesel heaters and on and on.
Can't speak to the quality, but the QJ is not that much more especially when you catch them on sale.
Although I got my QJ's at a hell of a deal ($800), I wouldn't hesitate to pay the full cost of the quality they're built to. I would stay away from these off brands. Especially, when it comes to something you're going to be working underneath.
I'm not buying a cheap generic product (Vevor) and than using it to suspend a 3000#+ car over me while I crawl under it. This about it; is this a good place to cut corners?

So a shop that makes money working on vehicles is telling you to not use something which makes it easier to work on your vehicle? Big surprise there.

I've had my QJ for almost 10 years and never once did I feel unsafe under the car, they feel plenty solid and the locking mechanism is a simple but strong design. I've had no issues with mine other than one of the quick-disconnect lines went bad and would no longer lock, I had to order and pay for a replacement after searching online for a couple days trying to find that hydraulic connector on my own from a 3rd party.
Get the SUV extensions as well, you'll likely need them and they come in handy for my Sonoma truck and vehicles that sit higher.

Yep, I am so waiting for the sale. Even though I probably don't need the 7000, for only $100 difference I may just go for it instead. I need to check the distance between the tire to make sure it will fit. Yes, on the extensions as I would need that for my F150 Harley Davidson truck.

They make a lot of the commercial shop lifts you'll see in shops. Safe to say they know a thing or two about lifts.
As for issues- some people have hydraulic leaks. Others get teflon tape into the fluid and it screws stuff up. Or they don't bleed them properly on assembly. There are a lot of ways for the user to screw up assembly. In use I have seen someone not wait for both locks to click before lowering the car. Its a little fiddly, but you should visually inspect the lock is set before lowering. Once they are properly locked that thing isn't going anywhere. That said, the majority of issues with quickjacks are probably user error.
FWIW check out the refurb section on the QJ site, or just call them and ask if they have any. I got one for like $1000 recently as a refurb and it looks perfect. They have sales almost monthly for about $1300. I wouldn't trust a vevor personally. Near the same price there is no reason to do so.
I got a QuickJack 3500SLX on sale. The prices aren't different enough to risk chinese knock off. The 3500SLX fits my '99 FRC and '04 Z06 perfectly. I've read that the new TLX models don't line up quite right with the C5 lifting points.
