I too initially sourced Amsoil's Signature ATF for the 1st trans fluid change in my 01 Z06. FWIW, I ended up using the recommended AC Delco 10-4033 after reading this from a reputable drivetrain & transmission shop near me <Texas Drivetrain Performance>:
Why not use synthetic fluid? Isn’t it better?
We’ve determined that synthetic ATF has additives which allow the synchro rings to slip a small amount, causing excessive wear. These additives are made to benefit an automatic transmission which has fluid under high pressure, unlike a manual transmission which isn’t pressurized. We’ve found that the life of the synchro rings are drastically shortened when using synthetic fluid.

Not surprised. I ran Mobil1 Dex III synthetic for a while (dealer recommendation at the time). Later went back to Dex-Merc non-syn (Valvoline) and found that I no longer had to do "slow" shifts to avoid synchros grinding. Cheap too, about $18/gallon at Wally's.
