It depends on what code you have
there are like 2 dozen codes that will turn that light on,
if its really the ebcom , then ebay. but beware, you need to get the right year and the right model. Traction control/non traction control and only 2000 or earlier for you. do NOT get an '01 or newer, won't work. And there are a ton of scammer s on ebay since these units are running $1,500 or so.
but as others have pointed out, make absolutly sure it's the ebcm, there are several other codes that can get thrown for that issue.
There is a sticky thread that describes the conversion to an ‘01 - ‘04 EBCM. It sounds technically challenging but, apparently it has been done. You will not find any new 01-04 EBCM’s either but they are potentially more repairable so maybe that means your chances of getting a good one are better.
If you're absolutely sure its the ebcm and not something else, I suggest spending a few weeks checking the for sale threads in this forum. I'd trust the forum members here to give accurate information and to sell a working part any day over ebay.
depending on what codes you have, I would check with ABS fixer, to see if it can be repaired ? we had our 01 Zo6 fixed, been about two years still working as it should. (we AutoX so we put it to the test a lot !!)https://www.absfixer.net

AFAIK, the ONLY EBCM's that can be repaired are the 2001-2004 models. The OP, like me, has a MY2000. I am 99.9% certain the '97-'00 model owners are SOL. But nothing to lose calling ABS Fixer, except a few minutes time.....
pre '01 cannot be fixed. There are a dozen or so threads on this.
01 and newer can be fixed in some but not all instances. Which doesn't matter here, since op has a pre '01.
I can't believe some entrepreneurial company or individual has come up with a replacement for this module. I mean they sell replacement visors for crying out loud.

It's really complicated. I believe liability is one huge hurdle. Could someone engineer and produce a new EBCM? Sure. But anyone who does better have a lot of liability coverage, because if this product fails with some sort of malfunction in a panic situation, Lawyers will be foaming at the mouth to take the case......

Probably somewhat true but unless BOSCH holds the patent on these, I don't see where any company would be exposed to any liability that GM itself wasn't exposed to. I mean ABSfixer takes the same chance by rebuilding them.

Yellow, if you were so inclined you could MAKE a replacement visor. How perfect it would be depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it.
In the case of computer parts, you can't. Right now it is a practical impossibility to make old computer chips. The equipment is too expensive and companies often have not released the relevant information (drawings and computer code).
If Bosch/GM would release the information (board layout and any needed computer code) it might be possible to repair a malfunctioning board with modern components. People have done that for old boards in other industries.
We would still have to figure out how to dissolve the encapsulant without destroying the rest of the components.
