Yep. I fondly remember the days of distributor dynos, brass jets, needles and accelerator pump tweaking. Indexing plugs, port matching intakes, etc. I still enjoy doing all that stuff on my 74' Sportster, though it does not have a distributor., but does run dual plugs per cylinder. Currently I am experimenting with shrinking the HUGE intake ports to get the velocity up in the port with pretty good results. Anything will help with the crazy 45 deg angle of the intake valves, the piston has a huge dome to develop the 10.5 CR it runs. Even that is adjustable with different thickness copper head gaskets.
Bolt on a Weber dual throat carb!!! Ive talked to guys who've done this, and they told me the motor gained as much power as a really good cam, or big bore kit......
It's an ironhead, same basic design as a shovel but cast of iron. The shovel design is actually based off the ironhead. The Weber does work good....if and when one can get them dialed in. I currently am running the ambiguous S&S Super however I may experiment with a Mikuni flat slide. Mine is stroked from the stock 61cu (1000cc) to a 74cu which is around 1200cc running cams that resemble a butte in profile, they have some crazy duration. It is ironic that such a simple 2V pushrod engine has 4 cams with only 2 cylinders.
Agree on tuning Webers. They have an infinite amount of adjustability. There are some guys who have had pretty good luck tuning them. I know patience is very important. It's analagous to going to the grocery store and seeing 100 different brands of mustard, or whatever!!!

I see shops that have a different business model than me. I do find it odd that I see shops selling their shirts. I give them away after a real time tune because the way I see it, you're doing me a solid representing Tampa Tuning. You shouldn't pay for one of my tee shirts since wearing the Tampa Tuning shirt is doing me a solid and I really appreciate the kindness.
Like I tell my clients, I'm a better enthusiast than businessman lol

Sorry to hear that. No personal experience, but I can imagine how sad and frustrating it would be.
^^ Thank you. The last 2 years have been a roller coaster for sure. Add the fact I have had 3 knee surgeries in the same time period and it has been real fun!
