tpms problem
but I wanted to get a couple of new tools anyway , , , I had new wheels already so I ordered tires from Tire Rack and had them, along with new Autel MX-sensor TPMS sensors (about $120 for the set on Amazon), installed locally
I then put the new wheel\tires on the car (2000 C5) and used the Autel Maxi TPMS (approximately $240 on Amazon) at each wheel to "create" each sensor. This is the process that programs the sensor with the specific vehicle information as well as uniquely serializing each sensor
Once the sensor programming was complete, I switched the DIC to "Tire Training" mode and, starting at the LF wheel, used an EL-50448 activation tool (about $10 on Amazon) to have the car learn each sensor.
It really seemed more mysterious in the beginning than it actually turned out once you get the whole thing worked out. Plus now, with the Autel MaxiTPMS and it's provided updates, I should be able to do TPMS work on almost all vehicles going forward.
