Chief I hope you won't mind if I ask what products are you using to top coat with? I've got a red 03 with black top that come spring I need to give the works starting with clay. The top needs sealed also. You guys certainly have the cars looking fantastic!

Just wanted to clarify this as I do not want to claim or mislead others of what clay barring does.
Clay barring finishes is not the end all beat all of beautifying your paint. Clay barring does not remove scratches, does not take out swirl marks nor haze, and has nothing to do with paint correcting. It's used for basically one thing, removing the microspots of sap, dried on exhaust droplets and other chemicals and gunk that's in the air that lands on your finish.
The fellows that do this is for the fun and fellowship. No one is financially compensated, we do not claim to be professionals, these are gatherings I've been hosting is between 3 Corvette clubs for the past 14 years. Not one recipient leaves my shop without a smile on their face. If you lived close by, you'd be most welcomed to participate. The result....a very smooth finish. We use roughly 2 full spray bottles of detail spray for lubrication. No machines are used of any kind, all hands in claying and buffing. Most importantly, the finish already has to be in good shape, if not, compound buffing and heavy polishing may be required, which we do not do in my shop, too messy.

The claying is done with just standard detailing spray, actually any will work. If the recipient wants their special finish coat applied, like spray wax, or a ceramic coating spray and wipe, we'll accommodate.
