Yeah, for $200 those are good looking shorties, and your cars sounds like a really fun driver.
My car already sounds cool, (IMHO, lol) and with a 6 speed and 4.10 gears it’s pretty quick. My interest in long tubes is more under the curve power augmenting my heads and midrange cam for street-only driving. For less than $600, I’m looking at Speed Eng. LT’s and X-pipe. HP is just expensive these days, so the value in the shorties isn’t there for me at list price.
I’ve had shorties and tune on a previous C5, and I didn’t really find much benefit. In the years since test after test, including Engine Masters, Holdener, etc., have indicated shortys provide little or no increase in power. Just my observations and personal experience.
Clip of a cold start. Definitely louder than stock manifolds. Didn't rev it because my neighbors were having a baby shower outside. I just moved here, so I didn't want to be "that guy" lol.
Also I was incorrect on the dyno numbers it's 421@ 5200 /447 @ 4900. Apologies!
Though I'm not a huge fan of shorties, $200 for a set of genuine Hookers are pretty cheap. I'd have probably done the same thing. Best of luck to you.....

Car sounds good with the cam, shorties and stingers. Good choice on not being “that guy”. I’m the noisy neighbor in my neighborhood with cars and motorcycles but I’m hyper conscious about not being “that guy”. Keep the RPMs down and no revs and I coast down my driveway when arriving late. I’ve even pushed my Vette out of the garage to avoid early morning starts.
The plot thickens boys! Just got a set of 1 3/4 kooks longtubes with catted x-pipe off a buddy for 800. Wasn't looking for them but I couldn't turn it down. I hope to get them on in the next few weeks. I'll go get another dyno and be able to provide real world FACTUAL differences in gains between the 2!

Great score! I would've purchased those Kooks LTs and catted x-pipe for $800 myself. Frankly I would've paid $800 just for the catted x-pipe. You got a screaming deal. Same dyno but different day cab yeild different results but no doubt the LTs will net more power to the wheels. Looking forward to the update. Post both dyno graphs next to one another.
