I have been looking for an updated version of the tail lights halo modification. The circuit board I have is different then the one posted here in the forum. Can anyone provide some direction on which part to remove/ disable with the board i have electrically speaking. i can follow lines and locate resistors. i can get a photo on here if needed. I took it apart, realized i was not sure and put it back together... just want to get the post started so I don't forget.
The newer style tails let you adjust the halos with the flip of a switch
I suppose technically there are several different newer halo taillights.
My guess is the OP is referring to the ones pictured below, which I presume aren't adjustable with an included switch:

Technically neither!
I came across these while price-hunting halos on ebay. The hamburger are the laser ones (with halo), but these are different halo taillights with only a middle horizontal section of brake light unlike the traditional halos where the whole middle oval is brake light LEDs.

Thanks for the very helpful explanation!
My interest in halos would be twofold. First the cool factor of the halo, second, and most importantly, is the safety benefit of the center lighting up into a bright LED beacon alerting a trailing vehicle. I’d rather spend the extra money for a light with a greater safety benefit.
Interesting, I would've expected these to have the same circuit boards as normal halo taillights. Can you take a picture of the circuit boards to show us?
