Default Window tint

Anyone has or had their windows tinted please reply:
I have a 2000 Z51 hatchback and want to get tint all around. I was told of because of the curved hatchback a thicker tint film was needed.
also has anyone used those pre-cut tint packages on eBay??

Ive had my C5 Coupe tinted as soon as I got it. No issues in 20+ years. Make sure to go to a shop that is reputable. If they deal with high end cars then you're good to go.

There's a few pics in my garage folder in my profile if you want to check out.

Get it done at a high end shop as suggested. I STRONGLY recommend you get a ceramic tint. When I had my C4 back in the early 2000's, the shop did the rear window using one piece of film.

Recommend the same....use a reputable shop for install & ceramic tint.
The good shops will warranty their work if that is important to you.
However, if you want to save a few bucks, some shops will do for less by cash-in-hand & no warranty.
I went a little too dark tint on the hatch...it's ok & I'm fine with it, but with the Lemans Blue it appears a bit too dark esthetics-wise (to me).

I went 20% on the hatch & 30 or 35% on the sides. Remember, the lower the number, the darker the tint.
Like I said, I wish I would have done the hatch the same as the sides just cause it looks a little too dark to me...from the outside, if that makes sense.

Consider that when you have factory tint already in the glass and when one adds a tint film, the result can be darker than what you see from a film sample held in your hand. Some places have tints in different %'s that will allow for that. It's been a while since I went to the tint shop so, not sure what the current offerings are. The ceramic stuff is great for solar heat control....putting clear on the windshield will cut sun heat a bunch.

*One thing else to be aware of is the little dit-dots at the top of the hatch...film doesn't lay down around those little guys very nice. My tint guy said to work on those for a couple days after application in the sun and should be able to close those things up a little....he was correct. Use a wet microfiber and firmly press around each and every one and it will minutely stretch the film closing much of the gaps...not perfect, but better.

Good luck & post a pic of your results sometime.

Find a https://www.xpel.com/ dealer installer. Did my C5 in their Prime XR Plus 30% on all glass except windshield. Windshield got Prime XR Plus clear.

PM me if you're interested in driving to Jacksonville and I'll give you the contact information on the guy who installed ceramic tint on my C5.
