I live in the Chicago area and am looking for a competent facility that can do a good job on adjusting my convertible top. The top itself is in good shape and when I purchased the car 14 months ago the previous owner indicated he and his father had just installed the new top. But there are a few wrinkles and it does come all the way down to meet the deck lid.
So I'm looking for a good shop that has much experience in convertible tops.
I would recommend most auto upholstery or interior shops. They are who do most of the top work today.
Depending on the way it is installed and the They may or may not get the problems out. Somethings can be easily fixed other may not be depending where they are are.
Thanks hyperv6, I use to be in the interior business back in the mid 2000's. We installed leather seat covers for New car dealers, and at the time Nissan was our national account. And although I managed 16 install facilities in the Central states, only one of my shops did convertible tops. Minneapolis. I did visit a more reputable shop in a western suburb of Chicago but I felt I was being talked to in a condescending manor.
I'm pretty sure they are not the only ones in the Chicago area that do convertible tops, I just don't know who they are.

Yes check around. The ones that do a lot of classic and street rods tend to do more tops.
My car's top doesn't need replacing but I'm curious what it would cost to do so. I think replacing it with the same color as the exterior of my car would look good.
Like this guy did.
