Since the weather is going to be awful this coming week, I have time to install the front brake duct screens, and I was wondering if anyone else has done this slight exterior mod and if so, any timps to do this with some help ? The set I have is stainless but I got both these and the cove screens powedcoated in satin black ?

I did this to my last two C5s.
Start by placing several layers of painter’s tape around the opening to keep the screen from scratching the paint. Reach in the opening and move the brake duct back a bit to allow the screen to be inserted, insert the screen and position it to where it is centered in the duct. Then gently move the duct back into position where it holds the screen tightly against the back of the fascia opening. It is just a pressure fit. It may help to remove the lower access panel under the front fascia to have a better grip on the brake duct for moving it, especially if you have a second pair of hands assisting you with the install. Once into final position, remove the painter’s tape and enjoy the new look.
It is not a hard install, just a bit time consuming while you avoid any contact with the paint.
It has been many years since I did the install so I hope I have remembered exactly how I did this - and I did the install with no assistance.
Ok Thanks Jack, so they go in from the front, and just sit close to the opening ? or should I push them further in and what part of the screens is at the top ?
The absolute best time to install these are if/when you are replacing your corner housings. I had a set from American Car Craft, sitting on my garage work bench for almost a year when I finally installed them when I swapped in my new set VetteLights Corner LEDs. With the corner lights out, you can simply reach your hands in to better position the screens between the fascia and flexible brake ducts. I also really like the ACC set as they have a rounded double-sided taped edge making them a lot more easier to install and helps with the pressure fit.
If you have no plans to swap out the corner lights, as mentioned, tape up painted edges as the ends of the screens are very sharp and can scratch the painted fascia during installation. A set of long and thin needle nose pliers helps makes it a little easier. Good luck!
Thanks so much guys, I'm starting to think I made a mistake as I had the bumper off last year and should of done it then. I am going to do the cove screens and hopefully that will be a bit more forgiving.
