Default Shocks for 2002 C5

Hi, can anyone recommend shocks for my 2002 C5 base coupe. I’d like a set that aren’t super stiff so it’s a rough ride but still makes it handle better. Thanks in advance!

C6 Z06 OEM GM shocks all day long. A great upgrade at a great price.

I replaced the magnetic ride shocks in my 2003 with the Bilstein B6 4600’s and couldn’t be happier. Excellent performance and not to harsh.

I agree. Very good shocks for the car and the price is right.

Unless you swap over to a coil over, you gonna get a firm ride but like others have said, Z06 Spec Bilsteins are the ticket. I replaced mine with Bilstein's B8's (Upgraded B6's) and combined with the Z06's sway bars, it's like it is on rails even more so than stock. You can catch them on sale, I got mine on sale from Summit for ~340 bucks all the way around.

I put the OEM C6 Z06 shocks on my 2000 coupe a couple of years ago. Very happy with them. They raised the front just enough to prevent scraping at a particular intersection where I used to have to slow to 30 MPH, now I can take it at 45 MPH. Definitely good enough for a daily driver. For track use, I'd go with the Bilsteins. They really are great shocks.
