Default C5 Tire Recommendations

Hi, I am looking to replace the tires on my dad's 2004 C5 Vert and was looking for some recommendations. I greatly appreciate it as we currently have the stock Goodyear runflat tires on it.

Go to tirerack.com and look at what is available.
Do you want modern run-flats or if you're stranded with a flat for a few hours is it no big deal?
Do you want summer only, very sticky, short tread life? All season? Best rain performance? Quietest?

Does he want to stick with runflats or go with non-runflats?

For runflats, Michelin would be my choice. For non-runflats, I had very good luck with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires.

Just got some of these last year - I like all-weather tires and these are good ones.

There is a Tire Rack depot in Winsdor CT if not a bad drive you can pick them up and save a few $. Also you can talk with their people about your selection. When I got my Continentals they were not on my list - but the ones I was looking for were not in stock and the rep was talking about how he's sold a lot of Conti's to C5 owners. I pick mine up at the New Castle DE depot. Looks like they have a rebate going as well...

You'll probably want to consider replacing the TPMS sensors if they are original. This thread has current information: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...or-the-c5.html
Make sure they can be programmed and recognized by the car BEFORE you install them. Otherwise you'll have to dismount and do the whole thing again with a different sensor.

Knowing something about use would be helpful.

For example, if he takes trips in somewhat remote or sparsely populated parts of the country, I would reccomedn runflats. I use Michelin runflats.

Hi, I am looking for run flat tires and quiet as my dad is 78. We would like to get tires that will wear well with some good life expectancy. No need for rain performance as the only wet weather the car sees is during a bath parked in the driveway. I again appreciate the feedback.

I ran Nitto NT-05's on Z-06 wheels on my C5, loved them. Great handling in the dry and did fine in the rain as long as you used good judgement!
