Ext mirror update
While the paint on my 2K Magnetic Metallic Red isn't too bad from 10 feet away the mirror shells are a different story. Faded more than the rest of the car with chips and Florida Love Bug damage they are in need of some help. The dealer I was in a few weeks ago had 2 C8's in the showroom, a standard and a Z06. I found the glossy black mirror shells on the Z06 against the orange paint really looked good. Came home and used black tape to cover the shells for a visual and liked the look. Now the question. Do I remove the mirrors, fight the glass out and have them painted or just buy a set of OEM black ones from ebay? It is my understanding getting the glass back in is a royal PITA with the chances of breaking the glass quite high if not done correctly. I can get a set from the bay for around 160 each and am thinking a good paint job from a shop would most likely cost as much or more.

I would think the labor involved in removing and installing new mirrors would be a pain vs carefully masking the glass, sanding the mirror and spraying on a coat of gloss black/clear

I had the same situation with my mirrors, except Torch Red. I masked the glass and the door around the mirror and sprayed them. You could do the same with yours with spray cans (black and clear) and no one will know the difference. Maybe $20 total and a couple days.
