When I bought my 2002 C5 Z51 new from the dealer money was tight for me back then.
Sometime after Forbes did an article on the fastest and slowest depreciating cars, foreign and domestic. It was pretty funny to me as I owned both .
Slowest depreciation rate: Chevrolet Corvette
Fastest depreciation rate : Mercury Grand Marquis .
😎
Footnote, when I bought the 3 year old Grand Marquis the salesman told me I was the youngest person he had ever sold one to. 😂
If you still have the Grand Marquis, take a close look at the frame.
They have an odd way of falling apart. Two of my older relatives saw the frames fall out from under the car, one on the highway!!
I purchased a 2000 Grand Marquis for my dad when he was 80 years old because he had a 1987 that was tired. I was 47 at the time. After my parents passed in 2012, I traded in the Mercury with 26,000 miles on it for $3,600 towards a 2002 vert. I wish I would have kept it because they seem to run forever. The vert served me well but I bet the old Mercury is still going like many old cop cars.
