C5 shock absorbers
I have an early 1997 C5 base model. It came with a three postion adjustible damping selector switch. I spoke to Bilstein and ordered their non-magnetic damping front shocks from Summit Racing. I took the shocks to my mechanic and he said they will not work and disconnecting the adjusting motors at the bottom of the shocks will generate multiple error codes and "the dash board will light up like a christmas tree". I spoke to a Chevy dealer and he gave me two obsolete part numbers for the right and left shocks (the adjusting motor position makes them different). The numbers are 22064825 and 22064826. A seach showed none available. Does anyone know of an after market shock that replaces these shocks and have you replaced them successfully? Your help would be appreciated.

Your mechanic doesn’t know what he’s talking about !!…all you need is a factory level scan tool to change some BCM settings by deselecting the F45 RPO code…takes less than 10 minutes and your dash won’t light up like a Christmas tree !!
