Default Windrestrictor in a coupe?

Are they worth it? Did you have to drill holes?

Thanks!

Typed that I had never seen one for coupes listed or describe, and immediately found windrestrictor does indeed have one. It's clear, etched, and has a glow light fitted to illuminate the logo, so not inexpensive at $280 plus shipping.

The page says no drilling is required, and it looks like it uses existing fasteners C/T the targa mounts. Not sure the restrictor is for me, but I would like to know who the package tray is from.

I have them in my '97 C5 and 2011 C6 coupe. They are both mounted on the interior halo panel and etched with their emblems and light up as well.

Does it help with wind and did you have to drill holes?

I saw the coupe version at Bloomington Gold one year and it looked pretty good, just never pulled the trigger when I had a C5 coupe.

I am also curious what effect it has on the actual "wind"

Funny because I installed a wind restrictor in my C5 convertible over 10 years ago and felt that it really didn't help with with buffering of the wind in the cabin, especially at speeds over 40 MPH so I removed it.

Then, after adding my 2019 C7Z coupe, I read some positive comments on how they improve the wind buffering in the cabin with the coupe roof removed so I gave it another try. From my experience, I think the wind restrictor performs better in a coupe than it does in a convertible. I could really feel the difference when driving at speeds over 40 MPH and even at highway speeds it helped driving top down tolerable. It also definitely passes "the cap test" as my baseball style caps would always feel like they were about to lift off before I installed the wind restrictor. I just didn't really feel the difference in my C5 convertible. Maybe because I expect the windy experience when driving top down and maybe because the C5 convertible convertibles pretty much have an open and flat area immediately behind the seats, unlike the C8 HTC which has the nacelles behind the seats that offers a more coupe-like feel to the interior even when the top is down.

Not sure if the C5 coupe wind restrictor is the same, however the one I installed in my C7Z did not require any drilling, just double-sided tape for the mounts in the side rear windows.

It may also cut down on some sound from trunk area.
