Just had 2001 corvette delivered.
I read the forum on buying a corvette for 2 weeks before I bought mine.
Now I'm reading about what to do first.
Need to:
1. Change all the fluids
2. Get new tires. Has Kumho Majestic (never heard of) . Michelin dealer told me to be careful. They will break lose.
3. Check fuse #7. Dash lighter not working. (Fuse blown. Replaced and outlet has power.)
4. Check fuse #24. Power antenna not working. (Need longer needle nose to get to fuse b/w two larger fuses #43 & #45.)
5. Remove hard water spots on windows and body. Maybe professional help.
6. Get Lloyd's front floor mats. Arriving Aug 7th.
Any suggestions.

You bought a 23 year old car that no matter what care was previously given, it will need more as time passes. If you are not a DIY mechanic or an electrical snoop that can sort out electrical commonalities that the C5 is famous to have , I recommend finding a local shop that has the expertise to do both. Contact the local Corvette Club for recommendations. And as others have opined, drive and enjoy with the top down because Vert's
It’s possible the antenna plastic cable broke, mine did and wouldn’t retract, even pushing down on it.
After 3 years took it apart apart and removed the plastic cable so can lower the antenna, was going to order cable but radio signal is fine with antenna down so just put it back together.
Welcome aboard, i see your in Moline IL, I’m in the far northwest burbs of Chicago. I’m west of Elgin IL. Nice vert you got your hands on. Just got back from a short cruise to Dekalb for a lunch outing with some local car guys. Wish you were a tad closer. Maybe meet for lunch someday halfway?
You won’t have any trouble finding C5 forum guys in your area… You might want to check the DOT date code on your tires. Some of these cars are sold with great looking tread, but the tires are too old for safety. I bought my car three years ago with 27k miles, and it had the original tires!
