I'm not sure about that door lock **** trim on the GTO, it looks like it might not absorb a coating, but if you're coating the paint anyway it is worth a try.

Ceramic detailer or coating? What ceramic coating did you use and on what? Ive seen clear ceramic coat or sealant not sure what that does seal in the paint?

I use a ceramic coating. Of the three I mentioned Geyon Can Coat and Avalon King's Armor Shield IX are still available. Armor Shield is probably what I'd recommend as far as price and ease of application go, although most ceramic coatings are pretty easy to apply if the surface is cleaned/prepped properly. Avalon King has a website that describes the coatings better than I can, plus there are a lot of YouTube videos with descriptions, demos, etc.. ChrisFix has a YouTube video where he's flipping a car and uses Armor Shield to make the faded trim look great again. Below is a post from the C7 forum showing a C7 coated with Armor Shield:
