I picked this up about two months ago and love it! It does have a few minor issues, instrument panel, a few light bulbs don't work.
As in the two pics of the instrument panel. When I try to turn off/on active handling, the light does not work. If I set it to off and hit the reset button, it turns back to on. Is there another way I can get to my trip or any other DIC settings without pressing the reset button?
The 2001 owners manual has some information on page 2-86 that is related to your question.
Do you have an owner's manual?
If no, what year is your car?

Thanks for the reply.
I do not have an owner's manual at the moment. But I will be getting one.
Take a look at page 3-40.
I'm not sure at this point it's not working as it should. That could be my lack of familiarity with the system too.
Also, welcome to the forum.
Thank you for the manual!
I meant the actual light does not show if it's on or off. If I press the button, it will say off, but when I press the rest button, it will stay on, I know I have to change the bulb at some point. I was wondering if there is another button I can press so the active handling stays off without hitting the reset.
I had a 98 C5 a while back and the button/bulb worked so I could tell if it's on or off. I have a hard time to actually explaining what I mean...lol
When you turn on the ignition all of the lights should do a self test so you can tell which one(s) are out. It's fairly uncommon for them to burn out, I'd be suspicious that someone pulled the bulb. But you should be getting codes if that were the case. Search YouTube for "C5 Corvette pull DIC codes" there are a couple videos that walk you through the procedure. Start your phone recording video before you pull the codes, that way you can fast forward/rewind all you like.
If you shut one or more systems off you should be able to just hit one of the other buttons to go to that section of the DIC. But I don't have that button on my 2000, maybe the 04 system is different?

Would pulling the codes from the DIC differ than pulling codes from My Diablo3 tuner? Using the Diablo, I get no current, stored or pending codes. I also have a Launch CRT 5011E and it also showed no DIC codes. I do remember trying to figure out what happened when I put active handling on/off, and it did work, gas pedal stopped me from giving it more throttle. I just don't remember what setting it was. It's strange, when I press the button for active handling, it shows off. When I press reset, it goes back to showing it on. I tried pressing the fuel, trip and gauge buttons thinking it would allow me to see the trip milage. Yeah - now that you mention about pulling the bulb, that doesn't make sense that someone would do that. I hope I don't have to chase electrical gremlins.
I am to go back through the manual you sent and see if I have missed something.

After reading the manual and going through the active handling section, when I am in Competitive mode, the light will not turn on. It also mentions about key FOB training. I have not done that. When I use key FOB 1, it thinks I am using key FOB 2. Not sure if that is the issue but going to start there. I just remembered, when I try to set my mirrors and seat memory to FOB 1...it doesn't work.
If after reading the manual you sent works...I owe you a case of beer.

No, you should see the same codes with a tuner. Some stuff you need a bi-directional scanner for but you should at least be able to see anything that would show on the DIC.

Gas pedal not working once and other buttons on the dash not working sounds like abnormal behavior.
You might start a thread in the tech area, you might get some useful ideas.
Good luck.

I think I might have worded that wrong, which is totally my fault.
When I am in competitive mode, and the tires break loose, active handling is in fact disabled. All the gauges do work, fuel, trip options. When I have had active mode enabled, timing gets pulled and the throttle body closes as it should explain why the pedal does what it does. Car has 79,000 miles on it, runs really strong. Changed the plugs, wires and coil packs when I first got the car. Plugs looked normal; wires were a bit suspect.
This is a lot different from when I had my 98 C5. I guess I will post the thread in tech and see what suggestions I get.
Thanks again for the manual, I have lots of research to do. Looks like a good place to start. Appreciate your time...Thanks!
