Default Torq Thrust Wheels

I have Chrome Torq-Thrust wheels on my 1968 Custom C3 and I have often said, "You could put these wheels on a garbage-can, and it would look great." Has anyone put Torq-Thrust wheels on a C5? I have my eye on a C5 convertible and would love to see some pictures of a C5 with Torq-Thrust wheels.

Those are cool however I prefer the grey center/ polished barrel versions. Always thought they were much cooler than the Cragar SS's everyone ran in the 70's.

The question is, can you get those wheels in the offsets you would need, for a C5. Big difference between a C3 and C5 wheel.

I like the original Torq-Thrusts with brushed magnesium and grey spokes as well. A must have for a retro race Vette. Depending on the color C5 I manage to get, I may use the original style, or I may decide on chrome, or I may decide on another type all together. I would love to see anyone's pictures to get an idea if this look could work. I also know that you can get different back-spacing then the standard offerings, mine were custom ordered.

This is exactly why I'm asking for pictures or information on the feasibility of this type of wheel style.

Just Google C5 torque Trust. Then hit images.

Yes you can get them but the wheels have little off set for todays suspension. They just don’t have that vintage look.

I love American Torque Thrusts and having been running them since the mid '60's on a variety of cars. In my opinion, any Corvette newer than a C3 with T T's just looks out of place. I too, also prefer the grey spokes with the lightly polished rims. On my 2004 Z06, I still have the stock wheels in the light grey color. It is also Torch red and I don't care for any highly polished or chrome wheels on the newer generations. Just the opinions of an old guy car enthusiast.

I found old threads for the Forum and images on google. One C5 lowered with fender flairs, wide chrome Torq-Thrusts and tires filling the wheel wells looked great. The relatively stock C5s with Torque-thrusts typically didn't fill the rear wheel wells and left a bit to be desired. I saw some with thin spokes on stock C5s that looked great. This is why I'm asking. I really liked the lowered C5 with the fender flares..........We'll see.
Thanks Everyone

The wheels look great on an older Vette, but have not seen that style on a newer generation. Would be interesting to see just what those wheels would look like on a C5.

Not that good, IMHO. Personally, I think part of the allure of the TTs is the "deep dish look" that they had. That kind of offset won't physically work on a C-5. That's really too bad, because if they "looked right" on a C-5, I would have had a set of them on my C-5 a LONG time ago.........

I Googled C5 Torq-Thrust and saw a few pictures of C5s with Torq-Thrust wheels. For the stock size, their appearance looks like the tires don't fill the rear wheel wells. The OEM wheels don't give that appearance. I have decided that for my purposes, I will not be using Torq-Thrust wheels on a C5. I only liked the look on a lowered C5 with huge fender flairs & non-stock sized wheel and tire package.

I love a Torque thrust wheel, have them on one of my cars. BUT, don't think they are a good look for a C5.
