I would think that it more of a strake than a diffuser.

Just a piece of stick on plastic. I have never seen even a real race car with that one.
The key to building a good car is knowing when to stop.

It's a mustang that someone mounted a wing on after looking at upside down instructions, then threw the left over parts away

I agree. But don't see how that piece would be a real benefit on the car.

Diffuser makes no sense on a car that does not use "ground effect" to increase downforce. I agree with previous poster - knowing when to stop is a good trait to have.

No No.... Geeze!.. They provide an "arranged air mass" to hit the following tail gater closely enough to cause him a moment of reflection in his 120 mph tailgating adventure ... while In the wet... Important. 🙄

They are called "canards" and are typically found on the front corners of a vehicle. They are merely decorative in this example.

From an aerospace perspective, they're stabilizers; canards are horizontal stabs/elevators in front of the wing. These are aft, so they would be horizontal stabs. 'Side Spoilers' as noted above seems the most accurate, based on context.
Honestly, though, they're in an aero dead zone, so all they do is add weight and become a place to catch debris or get ripped off.
To the OP: if you like them, go for it. Its your car. But they don't have a functional purpose.
