Finding the right electrical switch is sometimes a prolonged hunt online. Maybe someone here has one on tap already or knows better how to run the right search.
What I need is a 3 position switch which would be wired as Off, 12v, and 5v through a step down.
I really want to find this in a 16mm metal body with a cycling momentary press switch since these are intended for seats to run the fans correctly. I don't know that this exact combo exists but I want to try to find one.
I really want to avoid a dial type switch which would have difficulty fitting along the rocker panel on the seat surround. Also because a push button would look better.
Screaming Eagles... That's my dad's combat patch from 67-68.
I would not have a preference of function. The thing is hard enough to find that I suspect a rotary or slide switch will be needed and even then I have yet to see a 10 Amp variety. And for a seat fan function I suppose 10a is not necessary vs the seat heaters on a separate switch which I already have.
They look like a good toggle switch. They keep coming up as I look around. If I had an ashtray in the car I would use these in there behind the door and make a plate. I am looking to put the switches on the seat base in the plastic surround. I'm not sure a toggle switch could exist there and have space to not be knocked around in tight confines. Maybe I'm wrong though.
I am no electrical wiz. But now I am wondering if I can use my existing push button switches for heat and vent fans..... and route the incoming power source through a 3rd switch to go between 12v and 5v.... so 3 push button switches.
Heat: on / off
Vent: on/off
