Bluetooth Adapter
Installed a hard wired Bluetooth adapter in my 2000. It only connects to my phone when the car is in the garage. As soon as I clear the garage door it disconnects. What am I missing?/Doing wrong?

IMO sounds like the phone and not the BT unit as its location doesn't matter. It just transmits and receives. But the phone knows its location.
First thing I'd try is to update the phone if needed, clear all previous BT connections, move the car to an area where no other BT signals are resent, then pair your phone to it.

This is getting weird. In the garage with the door down my phone connects to the Bluetooth on the radio. I deleted all the others in my phone. When I open the door and drive out it disconnects. When I pull back in it will not reconnect until the garage door is closed. It will not reconnect in the driveway with the garage door open or closed.

I have a hard wired bluetooth adapter that works great so let's start at the basics. Which brand adapter are you using and iPhone or Android? Normally, unless you explicitly disconnect your phone, bluetooth should stay connected until you are out of range which is only about 33 feet. So if you left your phone in the garage and backed out it would disconnect. The garage door thing is weird. If you are in the garage and open the door but do not drive out, does it disconnect? If it does then you are connecting to something above the door and it is blocking the signal. Remember this has a very short signal distance. To do what you are saying sounds like your phone and adapter are too far apart or the signal is being blocked.

Its the garage door opener causing the issue. Unplugged it and the problem went away. Its a rolling code opener if that matters. I said screw it and got XM. Thanks for the suggestions. Weird **** for sure.
