I've searched and I'm just not seeing what I'm looking for. I have the stock radio and Bose speakers. In the future I'd like to replace the system with a double din or KnightDrive Maxdin and new wiring and speakers. For now I'm just looking for an upgrade to the rear speakers so I can get some sound from the rear when the tops down. Is there some 6x9 or ? that will work with the stock setup ? I don't care if it doesn't fit back into the side stock position as the top pretty much covers it when it's down and being in Florida the top is always down. I did pull the OEM speakers and ordered the metra adapters to the wiring and tried some 6x9 bookshelf speakers I had laying around and even with the fader full to the back they just barely squeak. The covered OEMs were much louder. Other then going with a new head what can I do to get some rear sound ?
Do you mean you connected home speakers to the radio? If you did, then that is why it's not very loud. It's most likely an 8 ohm speaker and the Bose speakers are either 2.5 or 4 ohms. It's best to upgrade the door twiddlers to better speakers. With the convertible the rear speakers are blocked with the top down so replacing them won't gain you much.
my 97 base. JBL gx328 front JBL gx628 rear with adaptor. was told by good source that Bose + and - are opposite so I put the Bose plus on the JBL minus and the Bose minus on the JBL plus. have a jvc double din in the closet that I'll probably never use. sounds great to me
