This is mostly a be-wary post for RPI, I should’ve looking a little more into the community reviews before purchasing but alas here we are. I ordered a c5 license plate filler cover from RPI for 300 that was painted. No problem waiting the 6ish weeks for the paint shop; it was to be expected. However i’m disappointed more in the quality of the part. It is severally warped like it’s been melted or through many heat cycles. I’m not looking for any sort of refund because it still works and the color match is pretty close, but the quality of the part is lacking. I feel like it’ll only be me who notices but I included photos. The plastic droops in between the top/bottom edges and the words. In the closeup i’m using a white straight pipe to show the warpage. What would you guys feel about this. Just my two cents if anybody else was considering RPI for the license plate cover, I’d check out another company.
I certainly wouldn't be happy with the product that you received, I bought a paint matched exhaust filler plate from them for my 04 spiral gray metallic vert. It came sooner than I expected, the paint color matched perfectly, and the entire piece was professionally done. I'm with frodo84... give them a call,
Look before you jump ship here and trash a company talk to them first.
I bought my plate cover from them painted and it is perfect. Note the cover is a GM cover not some knock off.
I also bought the SLP spoiler and was not happy with the finish. They took it back no issue.
I work in the performance after market and too often people freaking out before they even ask for help. Most and I mean most will take care of you. So contact them Monday and you will find they will take care of you.
They did me right so they should do the same for you.
Also remember they will be coming back from the Corvette show in PA so their response may be slow. They are not a really large place so staffing may be low fo a day and until they get caught up.
Except for about 2x the time at the paint shop, the product turned out nice. I did have to call customer service and they were attentive and followed up via email
