Default Sticky steering wheel

I’m a new member, but have seen many posts about sticky steering wheels, particularly on c5 corvettes. I contacted a man that refurbishes & re-stains interiors (for used cars). He fixed mine in less than an hour, looks like new. Hope this helps

Only the air bag cover on my steering wheel was sticky, since the wheel itself is leather wrapped. But I wiped it down with WD40 and that worked.

Lemon ammonia and plenty of clean rags. It will look and feel like new.

This is what I did. It took very little time, and mine is now completely clean and looks like new. I don't understand why they painted it in the first place, because the plain vinyl is a match to the rest of the dash.

Rubbing alcohol to strip the stickiness off, lots of rags, then some 303 interior protectant to condition it again without being oily.
