Default Backup camera install problems

I decided to install my Pioneer 1800NEXdouble din head unit and Natika backup camera in my 1999 C5 today.

Using the Axxess AXDI-VET1, I got the head unit installed and working just fine in about 2 hours.

The backup camera on the other hand was not so successful.

With the wires properly connected, When I put the key in ACC position, everything is fine. When I move the key to RUN, with the car in Park everything is fine. If I put it in REVERSE, I get a black screen the says No Video Available. Sound still works, but the screen is black.
If I disconnect the trigger wire (connects to the purple Camera trigger lead on the HU) Everything works fine except, the camera wont come on in reverse, unless I manually select it. Then I have to manually turn it off before going back to the main screen.

There are only 5 connections on this camera. RCA plug and trigger wire at the head unit. The main camera connection, a trigger wire (connected to the reverse light positive (green) wire). And a ground wire which I connected to the reverse light ground. (black).

In the head unit settings there is only a camera on/off button. No other settings.

I must have checked the connections at least a dozen times. All are correct. I have the requisite 12 volts at the trigger wire. The ground wire checks good.
After 4 hours of troubleshooting, I gave up and yanked it out.

At least the head unit sounds a lot better than my stock one did.

try switching the green and black. I seem to recall something strange with the connection back there on mine.

I tried that and I also verified that the green was indeed 12 volts with the car in reverse.

I'm thinking there might be something wrong with the cable itself.

Put the car in reverse and check the voltage at the GREEN wire, make sure it is 12v.

I think I found the issue. The green wire is 12 volts when in reverse. I hook the trigger wire to that, but, when I check the other end at the HU, it's less than 1 volt.

Mine had a CAM+ and CAM- at the H/U harness and I just tapped directly off of the reverse bulb for the trigger circuit.
