Now that winter is fast approaching for those of us up north, starting to think about how to keep mice out of my car for the winter especially as I just recently found the wiper motor wires chewed on and a nice little nest in that space. Thinking about maybe putting it up on the Quickjacks for the winter and placing a barrier around the base of the jacks. So what do you guys do? Anyone have any experience with electronic units like Mouse Blocker? Interested to see the ideas and replies!

I use Irish Spring soap. I buy bars and cut them in half. Half in each tailpipe. Three halves in the cabin and hatch. Half on the intake manifold. Any where I think it will help. Last winter no problem. I removed the soap in the spring, a week later, nest in blower motor. Removed the nest, replaced the soap in an open cigar box in the passenger foot well, No problem. This past winter. Same thing, no problem. Dummy me , in the spring I removed the soap. Nest with in a week. Remove the nest. Put the soap back in the foot well. No problem the rest of the summer. That my story and sticking to it
Where the car is stored is a factor in which methods will work or not work. I use these peppermint and cinnamon pouches linked below. My car is stored in an attached and insulated garage. I put one pouch on the garage floor directly in the middle under the car and another on top of the engine. I started doing this because I was finding mouse droppings on the floor around the car and some in the engine compartment. No droppings since I started using the pouches. Steel wool for the exhaust pipes. If you’re storing your car in a more porous building such as an old barn you might need a more aggressive approach. I’m just dealing with the occasional mouse that might get in when the garage doors are open.
I have an unheated 29' garage, and as far as mice, I have used Peppermint drops in the underhood and of course I have 2 outside cats I feed, if there were any mice, they make short order of them.
I tried the Irish spring. Mice ate it. Last year I built a frame of PVC and wrapped it in pallet film. It worked but lots of work assembling. This year I'm going with fully enclosed car covers (link above) with dessicant and maybe Irish spring for good measure
Here's how I plug the tailpipes: Styrofoam, eyebolts, washers, nylon locknuts Small soup cans slide right in. A couple eyebolts, washers, and nylon lock nuts
I do this year around to keep the squirrels out. One got in a couple years ago. Started car and blues shop towel remnants flew out like confetti. Fortunately the squirrel wasn't home

I have used one of the electronic sonic emitters in my garage for years. Never had a mouse but maybe I have just been lucky. Still, I’ll say the sonic emitter helped.
Dryer sheets throughout the engine bay, battery well and around the rear cargo area, plus a couple bottles of peppermint oil in a cup filled with cotton ***** in the cupholder. Hasnt failed me in 7 years.
Lots of great suggestions! Has anyone tried whole cloves? Friends of ours use them in their camper placed in custard cups or small plastic containers - they swear by this. Been thinking about making some wood tire cradles to get it completely off the floor, and maybe wrap them in plastic sheeting so the mice cant grab on.
Good looking kitties This is the best prevention one can get.........You guys got me worried now. I have never had a mouse issue in the 10 years I have owned my ZR-1. But as soon as one says that, that's when Karma gets you.
I'm liking the ideas of plugging the tailpipes, and peppermint placed in places.
