Default Headlights

I'm wanting to up grade my headlights. All I've seen are the brighter bulbs or replaced with the eyeball look. I am wanting to keep the stock fold down ,but replace the interior with an upgraded lighting system. Has anybody done this and if successful, the lights and mounting you ended up with. Thanks all

I have the LED bulbs from Vette-Lights.com and they work very nicely. I bought both the lo-beams and high-beams and they work nicely and for a very decent price. Give Cole a call !

@Loci.of.logi

there's soooo many choices for C5 headlights out there, much of it just depends on what look you're going for and how much you want to spend.

if you just want regular pop-ups, just change the bulbs to LED. (cheap but may be blinding to oncoming traffic; check Amazon)

if you want the stock pop up look that has a light output that will rock your world, George @ Sharplight has what you need.

there are also sleepy eye pop up kits by KDTV (these are mid-priced. I currently have these and they're awesome),

there are cheap non-pop up headlights from ebay (AKA frog eyes ), be sure that you save your pop up hardware!

there is a brand new angry-eye non pop up design from LG Garage. These are not everyone's cup of tea but i happen to love them and I am considering getting in on their next pre-buy but they are expensive $$$

some of us are deeply into lighting mods so be sure to point us in the right direction you're leaning and we can try to help you find the right headlights!

Ditto on what JDMVETTE says. I have the Knight Drive TV headlight system and they are truly Outstanding. Get to keep the flip up feature but it only goes half way up, thus Sleepy Eye.

As with other post there are three things you can do.

#1 Go aftermarket but that is $800 and not very stock looking.

#2 Go with the new headlights from Summit Racing. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-rp24724. $399.99

#3 Oracle Lights offer a H 4 bulb for high and low bean that are made to reflect into the stock housing with a good cut off line and they are indexable to get the light right. These are about the same as the Summit light also at Summit. These are not just brighter bulbs but bulbs made to replace H4 bulbs like we have.

I have used the latter two and both work out fine for the stock look and lower cost.

The problem with many LED bulbs is they can be all over in design and style. The ones Oracle make are made to reflect to the side and back and you can turn the bulb to it reflects correctly they even give you an Allen wrench to do so.

Now the Summit lights come with a resistor that is plug and play to make the head lamps go down. The Oracle You have to buy or make one yourself. I used a relay in line that used a bulb extension wire cut in half to make it plug and play.

There is no wrong or right it is a matter of what you want and the latter two are best if you want the stock look and just better light.

Looks like you have a number of options to choose from. Good luck and update us on what you go with and what was the deciding factor for your purchase.

They are a slight upgrade, not much. I bought bulbs from Daniel Stern Lighting and they were a lot better. I'm not spending $800 on lighting and can't stand the sleepy eye look.

I have the lights from Sharplight Innovations and think they are well worth the price if they save me from running into a deer or worst an elk on the rural roads in WA. They are bright on low beam and turn night into day on high beam.
