It was navy blue metallic from GM. The pic below was a week or so after I bought it. The targa, B pillar or halo, the hood and part of the nose were all gloss black. I did not like the look of the hood and nose and the paint was a 10 footer at best.
Very nice. As soon as I finish up the final performance mods on my 2004 (original owner), I plan to bring it into my paint guy to get a refresh of the factory MSG. Mostly the hood and front fender.
What's the ballpark cost on a full paint job like yours?

Mine was a complete respray in semi-custom mix colors, lots of prep work, a few places that needed minor body work, and many that needed very minor. They blew apart most of the car as well, and I had 2 sets of 1/4 panels painted. I went to a shop that somewhat specializes in projects like mine, not just a typical body shop. I had 3 other estimates for the work that ranged from $5,900 to $8500 for all the body work and paint. All the shops quoted cut and buff separate from the other work and they were all close to $2,000. I paid a bit over $11,000 at the shop I chose. Who knows, maybe one of the others or all would have been the same quality, but I liked the owner and what I saw when I interviewed them for the work. 1954 Corvette, a 1970 Mach 1, several high end BMW's were all in there at the time. They were just finishing up a 1969 C10 shortbed and I could see the type of work they did on their projects. The C10 was beautiful, and very well done, LS3 swap, full aftermarket chassis, etc.

Thanks. When is comes to quality paint and quality body work, you definitely get what you pay for. Your new paint (and C5) looks fantastic.
I work with a local paint/body guy who has done work for a few of the car guys I hang around and even some custom racing cars. He added a custom Shark Gray body stripe to my C7Z and then sprayed my side mirrors to match a few years later. I plan to work with him when the time comes to finish up my C5 convertible.
Looks good from "afar"; no insult intended. In my opinion you got a DAAAMMNN good price for the work performed (AND two extra quarter panels included?!?).
I'm a former professional auto painter; I also taught it at the local trade school night class. In ~1984 I painted the 2nd Place winner at the Oakland Roadster Show. It lost 1st Place because the owner cheeped out and bought Chinese knock-off emblems which had the black and white flag panels reversed. (I digress...grrrr) Mine was a strict repaint; no body work was needed. I blocked the door jambs (if you don't know what that means, it means even the door jambs were mirror-straight [no fiberglass wave]). The shop charged my owner $4600 (in San Francisco labor rate money) for my two months' work. So you did GOOD. Congratulations.
Very Nice and it is refreshing to see a Vette without black wheels. I'm looking for a C7 and you wouldn't believe how many are all the same, Black outside, Black inside, Black wheels and heavy tinted windows, But I fail to see the attraction to Carbon fiber everything
