Hello all, been awhile since I sold my vert almost 3 years ago but recently looking to get back into a vette. There is a 03 yellow zo6 Magnuson supercharged with 115k miles for sale close to me that I took a ride in yesterday and I’m interested in. We agreed on a price of $20k.
The body is not in perfect shape, definitely a “10 footer” it has definitely been driven and the front bumper been replaced and/or resprayed at one point. This is not an issue for me as I like to drive my cars and my last Vette I commuted in and it got rock chips and stuff so not really worried about that. I am just wondering if this is a good deal or if I should wait for a better deal.
The car is insanely loud inside. I think I would definitely want to put a barrier up in between the trunk or install stock mufflers and put a cut out as it has borla mufflers now.
he did say the car will start to get hot and overheat if in stop and go traffic and running the a/c. But if you’re moving it will be fine. I’m sure this is just a supercharger thing as he said he replaced the a/c condenser.
It drives great and pulls hard. The guy was babying it I feel like lol. When he would do a pull he would shift at like 4-5k and not even get close to redline.
Well, I'd be interested in the health of the Torque-Tube. You have almost no idea how the Owner/Owners treated the transmission and the amount of work to pull and re-replace that thing is a lot of work I had on done a few years ago and the cost was a little over $4300.00 Not a favorite repair.

Seems like a high price considering the mileage and the issues the car has, even with a supercharger. Does he have complete maintenance records, including who did the mods and how long ago? Have to wonder just how the car was used too. JMO.
On the surface it seems like a decent price for a Z06. Still, I agree with the above statements and would make the sale contingent on a Vette shop performing a thorough inspection.

My thoughts too, going by the description.
Buying a aftermarket supercharged car is second only to a N2O car for worrying about how abused it may be.
Thanks for the responses. He said the previous owner did the mods and he said he has receipts for everything he had done to the car. Not sure about previous.
no idea about torque tube but I’ll ask. I might be able to try to find a vette shop around me. He said he has had the car serviced by a renown local vette shop and thy have done some work on it. So maybe give them a call.
Too much supercharged or not. The SC is really not much value in a used car.
Go find a lower mile car and get it and if you want an SC add it to the better car. For just a little more I got a low mile convertible that was spotless.

your vert is kind of irrelevant...no comparison between z06 and base. completely different markets. thanks though.

He's speaking of car values, not a comparison of base to Z06.
The car you described is not worth the asking price, mods like a supercharger add very little to the value of the car.
Only you know what that car is worth too you. You saw it you drove it, your money. Your description of that car to me in my opinion is not worth what you two agreed to. For that money you should be able to do better. Good luck.
