Default Coilover opinions

Going down the path of coilovers for a ‘01 Z06. Weekend car for spirited driving.
considering Silvers Neomax or BC Racing.
Any pro’s and con’s for either.
Thanks, Rusty in Oz 🇦🇺

Currently I am not owning coil overs. But seems like there a large following on the silvers. People say they swear by them for the price. I hope to get coils by the fall, but I plan on going with Vikings. From Kelltrac.com. But silvers were going to be my #2 pick.

With shocks and coilovers you get exactly what you pay for.
I don't bother looking at anything that is under $500/corner. Anything less than that is either a valving nightmare, will blow out in short order... or both

Think of it this way: good non-adjustable DRM Bilstiens cost $625/set Now add springs, collets, and all of the adjustability stuff...

My recommendation is the Ridetech single adjustable

I've been running Silvers for a few years now. 12k/8k. I don't track the car, but the handling and ride quality is much better than stock IMO. I also did a custom alignment that's between stock specs and a track setup. It takes a corner like it's on rails. Overall I'm very happy and would absolutely do it again

I don't currently have coilovers. However, based on what I've read over the years Silvers are a solid choice for the price.

Incorrect.

I track these darned things online.

Silvers popped up as a thing because of one vendor whose code auto-spams FB pages and pushed "quotes" and comments to influence buyers had an initial corner on the market for several years. You LITERALLY could not visit a page or mention suspension without the auto-posts destroying your experience. What do people not know a ton about? Coilovers. When they buy them are they better than factory? Yes. Which coilover have we seen repeatedly for RE-sale from owners for various reasons? Silvers. The main vendor claims they are warrantied and upgrades them, but Silvers themselves had gone on record as those units being voided from point of sale due to modification. It was later stated by the vendor that they themselves would make sure the customer was taken care of, and I do believe that vendor is solid and would try. My evidence had been from the US VP of ops for Silvers himself prior to this, stating... no.

BC .... a car I bought has them, but I will be swapping them OUT. They have a higher fail rate vs others.

LG has a track set and a street set available.

VIKING is the bang / buck combo. I have a set spec'd by KELLTRAC waiting to go into my Z06.

That Z06 has RideTech HQs waiting to go onto the coupe to replace the BCs which I then intend to sell.

>>>>> Viking (KellTrac) / LG / Ridetech are your best bets.

Thanks very much for your input / opinion.
Yesterday, I spoke with the Silvers agent here in Australia, and explained that they are made in Taiwan and that the shocker part of it is pretty basic. After an honest discussion he pretty much talked me out of them. And I’m guessing BC Racing are going to be similar as they are the exact same price. I will re think and look at the other options that you have mentioned.
Im trying to achieve a desired ride height as well as improving drivability and handling. Non track work.
