[Z06] Z06 Engine Noise Solved
Since when did the car buying public become such wimps that everything has to be perfect ? all the time ? You get what you pay for with the Z06, and then some.
Chronic complaining and whining will not bring your emasculated manhood back. :nonod:
I won't apologize for wanting the car buying public to get what they asked for... a great car. The Z06 is just that, and inexpensive too ! What a bargain ! For 50k you get a car that can beat just about anything on the road, and looks beautiful too.
A warranty is supposed to cover Manufacturing Defects, not every thing that goes wrong with a car ( a potentially abused one ) is the MANUFACTURERS FAULT !!!
Some people think a warranty is their ticket to Beat the crap out of their Vette, over-rev the motor, and just have someone fix it when it breaks.... Just like THAT ! The rest of us end up paying for the extra cost imposed on the dealership due to some buffoon's disgusting and reckless behavior.
Our current government trough feeding, dumbed down, hip hop, gansta', welfare driven culture is always looking for SOMEONE TO BLAME ! Makes me :U
A little 'tick' never hurt anyone. I drove and race a Chevelle with a LOUD tick for 50,000 miles until I sold it, and got more than I paid.
I suggest that anyone excessively bothered by a little 'ticking' noise in their engine do one of three things: 1.) Check in your wife or girlfriends purse to find your stones, they are missing. 2.) Enroll in a ceramics, yoga, sensitivity, or crocheting class. 3.) TAKE THE BUS !

Your problem was diagnosed as a bad wrist pin, and If I'm not mistaken you already have the commitment of the dealership to fix it.
You don't have to do much at this point, other than take the car in.
Want good service? pull the service manager to the side and slap a $100 bill in his hand, tell him you want it fixed right. That coupled with a firm resolve and you'll get it straightened out.
Good Luck, and enjoy your car.

Something should be slapped alright and it's not a dead president into the hand of the service mgr., it's the service mgr himself for prolonging this saga for months! It doesn't take "stones" to pay off a dealer employee whose already been paid handsomely by the warrantee that was purchased with this car. As far as beating the crap out of a car under warrantee and demanding it be fixed-it's a sports car isn't it? Should u just drive it w/ your limp wrist draped over the steering wheel to the annual Roto-Rooter convention? The man has a legitimate gripe, where does it say in his warrantee 'not to rev motor over 4500rpm and 'avoid sudden starts'. All u capitalist pigs are the same; tell us how great the car is out of 1 side of your pie hole and then selling us a warrantee'just in case' out of the other side-then refusing to honor it! I agree that the Z is a great value, but not when it grenades @ 7000 miles it just goes into the pile of headaches that we each have to deal w/each day. As far as alittle 'tick',THE THING SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL PICKUP:nono: and if we wanted one we wouldn't spend $50k for an imposter. Maybe money grows on trees for the rotor-rooter man (or should I say maybe u wipe w/$100 bills)but the rest of deserve what we pay a kings ransom for. America's sportscar was meant to be driven hard and last for more than 10K miles; look @ the crap that their selling today :nonod: Now our friend gets the consolation prize ; a patched together engine and 3 less months on his warrantee; waiting until someone got off their royal can and honored their committment. Put your fatcat wallet away schister, you've already been paid! :bs

I listened to your car and it does not sound like something I would want to hear coming from my LS6.
If it were mine, I would insist it were fixed. You just have to then decide where it gets fixed, because they had better be good to your baby.
I wish you the best - and I look forward to your "I got it back!" post.
best regards -
