I think that the 50th anniversary "emblems" and ZO6 metal emblems on the exterior of the car look OK but I wanted to remove them.I did so with a hair dryer and some adhesive remover and then I polished the areas underneath with "Liquid Glass".The reason for this post is to inform others who wish to do this to refrain from removing the emblem in the front/nose of the car. There are two prongs on the back of the emblem that fit through two holes in this area of the car.Once I lifted the edge and saw this I quickly pushed the emblem back down and all is fine. This is just my preference for a cleaner look.
It is not double sided tape. The emblems(front and rear are rubber emblems and sides are metal). The emblems backing are rubber and then adhesive is applied to the back of the rubber and then placed on the car.If you wanted to remove the emblems I believe that you would have to replace them with new ones if you then wanted to put them back on the car.
I did this a while back as i also didnt like the badges on my '01 cause they were black...( on a Millennium Yellow car ) and i also figured out there were holes were the front emblem goes...so i had to push the emblem back down as well...
This i though was a good idea for me because i like the sleek look of no emblems...but too bad there are holes underneath the front badges
My front emblem is goofed up (from the factory) I have a new emblem to replace it. I noticed the tab and wondered if there were speed nuts behind it. If so, you'd have to pull the nose, or the bottom cover. So, is it my understanding that it simply has the tabs and nothing else?
