[Z06] Anyone with this problem?

Anyone with this problem?
I was driving my Z the other day and started the day with a little more than half a tank of gas. And after only driving about 50 miles, the gas computer told me that i was low on gas. I drive to a gas stationa and could only put in about 9-10 gallons of gas. i am guessing the the fuel measure sensor is messed up. WHat should i do about this? Take it to the dealership?

Yup its a known problem. Sometimes the PCM is just reprogramed and sometimes the fuel sending unit is replaced. I got the same problem except mine drops to empty sometimes and it really is empty. The car even shut off on me one time cause of it but started back up. I havent had a problem in a year however and have not gotten it replaced. Weird huh :crazy:

I know that my sender (or maybe computer) is slow to respond. Worse when I am low(er) on gas. Somedays it will take 4-5 miles before it starts adding miles to the range counter and quits saying low. I am thinking that i might have to whine about this in the long run, but for now I am just driving with the knowledge that I know more than it does. (I hope)

A good dealer service department should be able to take care of it in just a couple hours at most.

Hi Azn01Penny -
Nope - the Z06 is the only car I have owned that actually indicates anything other than full and almost empty.
I have heard of this problem with C5's though.
