Default Paging Darth Vetter

I am the proud new owner of the 01 Z06 that you once owned. I would like some information on the car if you don't mind responding. Please email me at rwooster2@aol.com. Please make the subject line something that will get my attention as I delete a lot without reading. By the way, the car did get over 26 mpg on the first tank and over 25 on the second tank of gas on the way home to Florida from Texas.

thanks
Ronnie

If you want information on that car, there were several threads floating around about the car in the not so distant past. I don't want to dampen your spirits about your new car, but I would say they weren't positive. The guy who originally bought it from him was very disappointed because Vetter claimed the car dyno'd 447 and when the new owner took it to be dyno'd, it dyno'd about 400. Vetter used to be associated with House of Speed. They can probably get you in contact with him. Also, look under his profile here and on z06 vette.com. You may want to do a search on Darth Vetter on this board and on Z06 vette. There were several exchanges between he an the past owner of the car. In Vetter's defense, the owner had taken it to a shop to have work done on the car before he did the dyno work, so idon't know if that had anything to do with the low dyno numbers. I haven't seen too much of Vetter in a long time though...

Hope this helps..

J-Rod,

I am the previous owner of the car, and you are correct - I was angry that the car didn't dyno at 447 rwhp. I told Ronnie about this, however, and the car actually did pull 413 rwhp (I gave Ronnie the dyno graphs when he purchased the car).

However, I did not take the car to a shop to have any work done to it that would account for the low dyno numbers. On my way home from Houston, one of the Crane 1.8 Rockers loosened up, and the car started driving poorly. Jon Paul quickly diagnosed the problem over the phone, but I was already too far out of town to go back. So, we had a competent mechanic from the Horsepower Store in Plano readjust my rockers. Then I dynoed 413 rwhp. Jon Paul suggested that it dynoed so low because of an "incorrect rocker adjustment", so I actually took a road trip back to Houston, and they adjusted them for me. Drove it back home, and it dynoed 407 rwhp. After this, Jon Paul wasn't too interested in finding the lost power, and I decided it wasn't worth my time to pursue it. For what it's worth, I would say that the ring and piston job is what cost the extra power, but I was not about to drive back to Houston again to get the car re-ringed, and I don't even know if Jon Paul would have performed this work under warranty (I paid extra for the rings and pistons when I bought the car). Regardless, the car runs and drives perfectly, and it still makes 413 rwhp which was enough for me.

Sorry to go on so long about this, but I wanted to clear the air that I actually changed ANY part of this combination. Also, I haven't had any exchanges with Jon Paul on the forums, although one of my buddies did post in my defense on the Z06 Vette Forum.

Ronnie,

Once again, enjoy the car. I sent you an email today too, since I just got back in town.

Ben.

Thanks for speaking up. I tried finding the posts on this site, and couldn't. I guess thats because they were over on z06 vette. Anyhow, I read the thread, but I have slept since then, bso my memory was a bit fuzzy on all the details. Anyhow, sounds like the buyer is aware of whats up, so hopefully he is completely happy with his new ride.

Ben (seller) was up front with me (buyer) on everything and all is well. I have read all the post here and on the Z06 forum. I have no problems with anything. I was just trying to get in touch with JP to get some specifics on the car/engine/nitrous. I did email him at the aol address but he has not responded yet. I hope it is just because he is busy. The car is badass. I will know just how bad after I take it to the track. First gear is almost useless with street tires. Second gear spins them bad also. I was hoping to get some info on the nitrous setup before I started tracing wires and such.
