Default can you dyno?

My Z has 250 miles on it right now. I was wondering if I can dyno this soon or do I have to wait a little while. I would like to do it now to get a baseline before I start putting mods on the car. I didn't do that with my 02 coupe. So I have no way of knowing how much hp/tq I gained with the mods I have done.

Any thought here guys. I have a halltech T1-C on the way so I need to do it soon.

I would wait until you had the required 500 miles (break-in) on it at least.
I dyno'ed my car for the first time at 1800 miles and I don't believe it had
even loosened up any by then (low numbers).

As said I would wait until you hit at least 500 miles before dyno. :)

I would wait. You should be gaining hp every mile you drive it and you won't know if it's the mods or the miles thats increasing your hp.

I've got 4k on the car and already installed the Vararam. Will dyno this spring for the first time and then add some more mods to see where the hp stands.

thats cool guys. I will wait and put some more miles on the car. I am trying to brake in the car lightly but its hard. I power shifted from 2nd to 5th on accident the other day and smelled some clutch. called dealer and they said no problems, they said clutch is new and that is were some of the smell probably came from. since then been driving it very tame. but its hard.

If you dont break the car in lightly will you lose hp/tq on the motor.

The first 500 mile break-in is more for the powertrain (tranni, rear end, brakes, etc.) and not really the LS6. The engine will continue to break in as the miles acrue. An early dyno will not result in any significant numbers. I'd say around 4K to 5K would be a good base line dyno.

Suggest you look at doing an oil change between 501 to 1K too.

So I couldn't lose power by the hard driving I have done so far. Just maybe have hurt the tranny or gears. I need to sloooooow down

Break-in SUCKED :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Just wait until you get past it and then all :reddevil will break loose at WOT the first time....

I dynoed at 2500-3000 miles (I think) and got 345 and 3??. It was also on a hot humid day on a dyno that's known to read a little low compared to others. I am curious to see where I am now at 83xx miles......
