Default Do you mind?

I hope this Z06 community doesn't mind me posting here even though I don't have a Z06......yet. This summer I am hoping to buy one, though I will have to sell my current ride. I've grown very attached to my 95, but I am hoping one ride in a Z will take care of that. From what I've been reading here, the Z06 is one sweet ride.

I have my sights set on a Quicksilver, but am sad to hear that they are no longer carrying that color. A new color will be offered in 04 called Machine Silver and I am very interested in seeing what it looks like (when someone gets pics, please post). Now my problem is this. Do I try to pick up an 03, because it's the 50th and it's in Quicksilver? Or do I go for the 04 in Machine Silver? I don't believe there will be any power differences between the 03 and 04, just refinements I'm guessing (correct me if I am wrong).

Anyways, how long do you think dealers will have 03 Quicksilver's on their lot? Well into the 04 production run?

Thanks.

OK, I am purely speculating on facts as they exist now, so there is no guarantee of accuracy...

Since they have already stopped producing Quicksilver (as of 2/03), since it has been a lower production number color (18% of 2002 Z06) and since they are the quickest ( :jester ) I would expect to see them becoming more scarce on dealer's lots as we get closer to the beginning of production of the '04s.

Just a random brain dump, but I hope it helps. SOME dealers being what they are MIGHT try to hold out pricewise on QS '03 because they are now 'rarer and no longer made' ( :bs ) I am curious about the machine silver, but the price might get held a little higher on the new model year (another :bs tactic, 'market adjustment :cuss )

So in the end it boils down to this, talk to local dealers, supporting dealers, etc, decide what you want (April during the birthday bash should show us what is what for '04) and go for it. After having my Z for almost 10 months now, I couldn't go back, it is absolutely amazing. Now my problem is that since this is my first vette, how long till I will be able to do one better

Anyway, enjoy and keep us posted with what you decide

Hi bluestreak63 -

No problem posting here - that is what the board is for - info passing.

From your question, I sounds to me like you have already made up your mind, you just didn't know it.

You want a QS 2003 Z03. The benefits, besides being what you want, are that it will be incrementally cheaper, and you will get it NOW.

I do not anticipate a price increase on QS due to the rarity of it. If the numbers showed that they would sell tons of QS, they would still be making it IMO.

Best Regards -
