Vetterman, I have been taking my Vette to Sears for the last 3 years for all my wheel/tire needs: new tires, balancing, and alignment. That goes for both my race wheels and my street wheels. I routinely operate my car at sppeds up to 145mph on the track, and I can assure you my wheels are balanced.
Further, allow me to share your IM post to me with the other members:
" I responded to your misinformational BS post to protect fellow Corvette brethren. You've obviously never checked on anything about tire servicing before spouting off-Very unkewl. You looked like a complete butt"
Yep, real cool yourself
Why don't you provide the numbers of the places you supposedly called, and I will be pleased to verify your story about them being unable to perform high speed balancing. I'm waiting.
All I can say from experience is that from 0 - 150 MPH my car feels solid as a rock, no imbalance issues whatsoever.....at least none that I can feel....
Those Hunter Balancing machines are pretty amazing, and pretty idiot proof.......I'll take the extra $150 I save vs. "on car balancing" and spend it taking my wife to dinner and dancing....much better spent money IMHO....
VetterMan....I definetely understand where you are coming from, and agree 100% that ULTIMATELY that is the best way to balance the tires/wheels. BUT, what does it actually buy you? For a car driven mostly at highway speeds, and an occasional spirited run, spin balancing works just fine for me.......

Ditto, but I can attest to speeds in excess of 160 with NO problems...

Z06 Quin... I'm glad you agree with me on the ultimate best way to balance the tires/wheels. It's a funny thing you should mention the dinner/dancing bit ... my wife and I both got our Z06's balanced that day and followed it up with just exactly that. Life is good!
