Was reading some bs on some other forums, and had seen some here about 350z's hanging in with ls1 camaros and even z06's! So I edited some more of my track footage, and posted some video of me running over a 350z.
Also added some burnout video in my 68 firebird if anyone is interested.

350Z.... Ha!!
My best friend owns the Track version and could not even take my 98 M Roadster! We raced from dead starts, 30 mph punches and 50 mph punches and it walked away from him every time. I would not even start the Z06 to run him, and after the beating the M Roadster gave him, he was VERY disappointed with the 350Z. He likes the unique looks, but now knows it is NOT fast or quick. Unfortunately for him, at the price they are at, I figure there will be one on every corner in another year... Going to take some big $$$ to get the 350Z even close to an LS1 F-body, let alone a Z06.
I think the 350Z is a great looking car and quick by most standards.....14 seconds in the 1/4 mile is notable.....we are just spoiled on our exceptionally quick cars......the 350Z is a beautiful car, I'd love to have one aside my Z06
That's a good one. Actually I haven't heard of anyone saying that the 350Z would hang with the Z06 yet, but I knew it was coming. Some people just don't understand.
350Z's are not fast. Any attempt of the owners to convince themselves that they can keep up with Z06's is simply a fabrication and quite ridiculous at that. End of story. Next topic.

Hmmm, he'd better not get too confused looking at the nissan, uh, infinity G35 coupe... :skep: Never, at least in my mind, has the nissan/infinity connection been clearer...
Just my $.02

PS Really, even BMW Trend said that it was in a class by itself when compared to the M3, 911 and 350Z. The Z06 for the $$ is VERY tough to beat.

I _knew_ those two looked a lot alike.
I got a bro who is waiting for the vert 350 to come out. I'm still workin' on gettin' him into a vette. Soon. Soon.
I figure, all I'll have to do is let him take a spin in my Z06 after I get it broken-in and that'll seal the deal.

Hmm. that's not anything new. Well, I think with the twin turbo kit whenever it's released for the 350z should become an interesting thing. I heard around a boost to 400hp+ from it's original 287hp.

They're going to do a factory Twin Turbo model?? Where'd you hear that? Just curious.
Now a Neon SRT-4?? Yep, a better race for a Vette than the 350Z!!! I saw a video with a slightly modified one running upper 12's. Pretty funny!
The Neon is a sick little compact. I drove one a week ago in Ventura, just to see what it was. I was shocked at how hard the thing pulled, and how little torque steer it had. It can also hold its own in the corners. I've got the feeling that on a set of Hossier tires, we are going to see these things bang off some impressive laps in SCCA Solo II.
Let the tuners tweak the turbo, and for $20k you'll have a snotty little doo-dad.
Too bad I don't need a tin-toy econobox hotrod, am no fan of FWD cars, and aren't twenty years younger... I'd be bummed they didn't have cool rides like this when I was younger and broker, but in the 70's we had real V8's and Purple Horney header mufflers, so I can't complain.

No, not directly from the factory. My mistake, I need to clarify that. It's just going to be an upgrade for the stock 350z. Source:http://www.i-m-racing.com/comsoonpowen.html
Can't wait to see it!
Sounds like we're heading down a familiar path... 350Z with twin turbo mods might] run with a stock Z06... then somebody's gonna say, yeah, but my Z with the Blackwing and Borla exhaust beats that... then the 350Zs gonna have a shot of NOS, then the Z get's a few more mods and eventually gets the Lingenfelter twin turbo... and in the end we'll all agree once you start talking mods - there's always somebody driving something else who's faster. Off the showroom floor, there's not much that can hang with the Z06. The mods make it all more interesting. :yesnod:
This is a great story. I drive into a Nissan dealership in my Z06 and walk in to take a look at the new 350Z. As I'm walking in I overhear a salesman talking to a customer. He's telling this customer that the 350Z is faster out on the "track" than a Porsche 911 TURBO! I'm thinking what "track" is this guy talking about and look at the guy like what the hell did you just say? I let it fly but then as I'm looking at the car another salesman comes up to me and tells me the exact same thing. I tell him I have my Z06 sitting in the parking lot and that he can go and get the keys to the 350Z and we can go anywhere he wants and I would hand his back side to him. He proceeds to tell me that the Track model is the model that he's talking about not this car. I give him my business card and tell him to give me a call when a Track model comes in and that the offer still stands. He wasn't too happy. I tell him he better watch what he says, you never know who you will be talking to.

More like 14.5 on a good day, with a zero to sixty time of 5.8 seconds.
  Isn't that a 14 second 1/4 mile????  I never said 14 what......just 14.... :p:
FWIW, I've seen published times of 14.1 to 14.7...but we all know how much driver, tires, weather, all the factors play into those numbers.....so......take it as you wish...
