Since the Bose 12 CD Changer wasn't an option, has anyone put one in their Z06 yet?
How hard is it to do? (I'm not a car guy...except to drive them)
Options on where to mount it? I'd prefer not to give up the storage in the center if possible.
I installed the Factory Pioneer 12 disc that I got from Radio and More. Best price. I just pressure fit it on the passenger side pocket with the flat kit. Very happy and it is sound better than the radio. Need the harness kit also. Easy install and directions are good. George
I did the same install but bought the harness/bracket from radiosandmore.com. Put the factory bracket in the same location as installed by the factory in the coupe -- left side of big hole in trunk.
It was about 20% less than Ken could do.
An easy install -- hardest part was finding the two existing factory plugs in the passenger side footwell area to plug the new harness into. The directions weren't real helpful on that point.
Otherwise, plug-n-play.
Then got vert trunk floor panels from Ken to cover everything up. Another easy install with the screws and brackets Ken's guys put together in the order for me.
I used the factory 12-disc changer I pulled out of my... (ahem) Saturn. I did have to locate a factory wiring harness but other than that, it works perfectly. The only thing to note was that the trunk well at the back was too bumpy and it skipped all over the place. So instead I put some velcro tape to the bottom of the changer and stuck it down onto the trunk carpet behind the passenger seat. It's never moved (even while high speed AutoX) and is reachable from the driver seat.
