hi all,
just found the forum-- very nice btw! i just got a new red z06 last saturday and have had a great week driving it-- tough taking it easy for those first 500, but as i've been driving it ~120mi round trip to work and back it didn't take long. all i can say is i'm glad i didn't buy the used viper! :)
i was driving by the dealership where i got my '02 z28 last summer and saw this gorgeous redhead sitting outside-- i'd been wanting a C5 for a year or so, but they didn't have any at the time so i got the camaro instead (wasn't that bad, cause it had an LS1 and 6spd!)-- anyway i went back in the afternoon and traded up and took her home then and there and i haven't given it a second thought!! always thought i'd want a black or silver one (those were the one's on mallett's website that always caught my eye) but seeing one in red in person kinda changed my mind.
i've always been a mopar man until recently, but that designation is debatable now since i've owned a 35th anniv camaro and now a 50th 'vette-- my 68 hemi gtx isn't the best daily driver and i've heard vipers aren't either, and since i didn't want a truck or mustang, there was really only one choice to get a RWD, reliable muscle car that you can drive every day. the camaro was fun-- read: fast-- but i never liked the looks of the F-bodies. however i always was fond of C5s and i think the z06 is the best looking of them all. i knew if i ever bought one it would be a z.... and thats what happened! i think i made the right choice!
