Default Hi everyone.

Hey, im a new member today, i came over from camaroz28.com. I DO NOT own a Corvette, but god knows i want one. i actually hooked it up over here so i could find some info on vettes for a friend of mine. hes thinking about picking up a 2002 Z06. I know from my experience having a Maro that bolt ons go well on camaros, i however dont know about vettes. they seem to be a big notch higher than my Z. but i was just wondering what kinds of bolt ons there are for the vette, and how much they cost. he is thinking of starting out and just spending about $500 bucks. thanks for your answers in advance.

Glad to see you over here!! I am definitely low man on the totem pole but the mods I started with were the intake and the shifter. You can change the air intake and the air bridge out for around $500. The shifter, which is more of a personal thing for me, runs around $200-$300 depending on what you get. **** is extra on top of that.

Good luck and I'm sure that some other more experienced guys will be responding real soon!

Welcome aboard! The F-Bodys and Vettes are pretty much identical when it comes to bolt ons. What works for the Z28 will work for the Vettes. Remember, they have the same heart. Just warn your friend that the cost for Corvette add-ons is about double that for the F-bodys.

Hello :seeya and Welcome to the Forum!!
Start out with a new air filter/intake to let her breathe a little easier, and then start checking out the offerings on the Forum CORVETTE MALL.

Have fun!

Welcome to the forum....

Change the air filter, power duct, coupler, etc... that would be a start in the right direction.... :seeya

Welcome aboard ! :)

Tell your friend that he may want to put his own shifter in, but I think the best bang for his buck is going to be some driving lessons.

I'm not trying to be condesending at all, please don't take it that way but it is my opinion that 500 dollars will go a lot further with a driving instructor than say..buying an aftermarket air filter package

I had a 2000 coupe with headers, air intake, x pipe, corsas..etc.etc.. and the Z is just SO much stronger out of the box, that I feel some driving lessons is a major priority...This car is so light and refined and the motor is so strong, that I think he will get plenty of excitement out of it stock ,before he gets bored with the power/handling.

I spent 325 dollars this month for two days of track time at Putnam Park here in Indiana. It's a 2.2 mile race course with an instructor. The Z was made for these kinds of events. I simply cannot think of any modification that tops an experience like this, given the money spent.

good luck! :)
